From Harrison Police Department: The Harrison Police Department along with the Policemen’s Benevolent Association (PBA) will be opening their doors to the public at an Open House this Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 10 AM to 2 PM. All residents are invited to come by for a fun-filled and informative trip through Police Headquarters. There will be information and activities for all ages.
The Fire Department will have demonstrations and displays, including a Fire Smoke House Trailer where kids can learn what to do if there is a fire in their home, while adults can participate in a stove and utility demonstration discussing how to properly put out stove fires and how to turn off utilities in an emergency. Paramedics will perform free blood pressure checks. We have the Westchester County Aviation Unit come with a helicopter that the children can sit inside and get a tour on how it is used.
The Police Department is offering crime prevention information and tours of the Police Station. Officers will be showing the equipment on police cars and motorcycles. Also, free child fingerprinting kits will be available, bicycle helmets will be given out and face painting will be offered to all the children.
