Feds Investigating Westchester County Airport Bird Strike: FAA

A Sunday morning bird strike at Westchester County Airport is now under investigation, federal officials say.

WEST HARRISON, NY — The FAA is investigating a bird strike that took place Sunday morning at Westchester County Airport, federal officials said.

Per the FAA, Envoy Air Flight 3751 was scheduled to fly from Westchester to Chicago O’Hare Sunday morning but had to return to ground at Westchester after striking a bird on takeoff. The Embraer E170 airplane touched back down at 6:45 a.m. Sunday, the FAA said.

News 12 reported that there were 59 people onboard at the time of the strike.

Envoy Air did not immediately respond to requests for comment Monday. The FAA said it would be investigating the incident; Westchester County police also did not respond to requests for comment.
