Flood Advisory Joins High Wind Warning for Southern Westchester

The National Weather Service has issued three statements for southern Westchester:

Hazardous Weather Conditions

• High Wind Warning in effect from January 23, 01:00 AM EST until January 24, 01:00 AM EST
• Coastal Flood Advisory in effect from January 23, 06:00 AM EST until January 23, 10:00 AM EST
• Hazardous Weather Outlook

In addition, the NWS has upped its forecast of precipitation totals, suggesting the region will get more than 2 inches of rain.

The Coastal Storm Briefing predicts seas will build 6-12 feet on Long Island Sound. There is potential for widespread flooding of vulnerable shore roads and adjacent properties.
