Evening Commute Unaffected by Grease Fire at Grand Central with Smoke
no affect on train service, just on lunch

The evening commute was not affected by the 1 p.m. fire in the kitchen at Junior's in the lower level food court.
The very popular, usually very busy restaurant (think: cheesecake for the trip home) was filled with water Tuesday afternoon as firefighters fought the blaze in the ductwork.

It was apparently a combination of grease and lint.
According to the FDNY, no one was hurt and there was no evacuation.

And a Metro-North spokesman said it didn't affect trains on east of or west of the Hudson lines.
However, it certainly scared people, coming on the heels of the news about the attacks in Brussels.
The Twittersphere was full of comment after Grand Central, fire and smoke started trending on social media.
