Dear Chuck is a dramedy that combines some extremely comic moments with very serious ones. The play is a collection of scenes in monologues which depict teenagers struggling to find their “Chuck,” a metaphor for their purpose in life. In one of the more comic scenes, a teen has to deal with her mother’s decision to redecorate her room. In another, the “Teen Shopping Experience” is portrayed in an absurd manner, as teens deal with declined credit cards and parents who want to keep them on literal leashes. More serious scenes and monologues deal with a host of serious topics including struggling to fit in, divorce and death.
Performances will take place in the Harrison Performing Arts Center at Harrison High School on Friday, November 5th at 7pm, Saturday, November6th at 7pm, and Sunday, November 7th at 2pm.
