Harrison High School to Host 3rd Annual Relay For Life Event
The Harrison community has raised over $100,000 each year for the American Cancer Society

Harrison High School will be hosting the 3rd Annual Relay For Life event on Saturday, June 3rd at 7pm through Sunday, June 4th at 7am. The goal for this year’s “Paint Your World Purple” event is to raise $125,000 to benefit the American Cancer Society.
The event begins as the sun is going down to signify the darkness and fear that occurs with a diagnosis. A member of each team will continue to walk the track at HHS’ McGillicuddy Field all through the night, showing that cancer never sleeps and symbolizing the ongoing fight. A luminaria ceremony allows those participating to light a candle for someone struggling, to celebrate family members who have survived, or to remember loved ones who have lost their battle with cancer.
As the suns rises, the light symbolizes hope and the feeling that one is not alone on this journey.
