Harrison High School Performing Arts Shine in Philly and Boston

Harrison High School Band Receives Gold Medal in Boston

Members of the HHS Band, Chorus and Orchestra participated in unique learning workshops this spring. The Harrison High School Band participated in the Heritage Music Festival in Boston along with numerous high schools from across the region. After adjudications, the HHS Concert Band received First Place, a Gold Medal and an invitation to the Festival of Gold next year.

Other awards received were:
The HHS Symphonic Band – Silver Medal and 2nd Place
Sirius Jazz Workshop – Silver Medal and 1st Place
Percussion – Silver Medal
Majorettes – Silver Medal
Senior Jon Crozier received the Maestro Award for Jazz solo performance.

The HHS Chorus and Orchestra programs traveled to Philadelphia and experienced a college tour of Temple University and a presentation from students at the Boyer College of Music. In the evening, the students viewed the Temple University Concert Choir and Orchestra in a performance at the Kimmel Center-Verizon Hall in Philadelphia.
