Harrison Library Brings Back Taste of Harrison

A Taste of Harrison Returns to Support the Harrison Public Library

Endless lunch and a June stroll with family and friends are among the attractions of A Taste of Harrison, the fund-raiser to support the Harrison Public Library scheduled for Sunday, June 10. More than 40 Harrison restaurants and other businesses offer free samples of their delectable fare and other wares to anyone who makes a donation to library.

Harrison’s Willow Ridge Country Club stepped up to underwrite the event this year, enabling the Harrison Public Library Foundation (HPLF) to expand the scope of A Taste of Harrison. Willow Ridge will also offer special samples from a mobile display on Halstead Avenue during the event.

“A Taste of Harrison is a great way for library patrons and Harrison businesses to show their love for the community by supporting the library,” says HPLF President Dave Donelson. “The Friends of the Library introduced the event in 2012 and it’s become bigger and better every year.” The Friends of the Library are part of the Harrison Public Library Foundation.

In past years, more than 40 Harrison restaurants are expected to participate, making A Taste of Harrison one of the town’s biggest events. Other businesses support the library through donations and raffle prize contributions. A Taste of Harrison is scheduled for 11:30 AM to 3 PM in downtown Harrison.

To join the fun, library supporters purchase wristbands that identify them to the participating restaurants. Wristbands are $25 in advance or $30 the day of event for adults. Children are $15 and those 4 and under are free. They’re available online at www.harrisonpl.org/taste-of-harrison or at the downtown Halperin Library or West Harrison Branch Library.
