Harrison Man ID'd In Fatal Harbor Incident

STAMFORD, CT — Officials have identified the man who died in Stamford Harbor Saturday night as Jose Diaz, 51, of Harrison, N.Y.

Diaz fell off a 38-foot cabin cruiser as it entered the harbor, according to the Stamford Advocate.

He was last seen by fellow boaters on the swim platform at the stern and was discovered missing around 11 p.m. He was found in the water about an hour later and was rushed to the hospital.

The cause of death is being investigated by the Office of the State Medical Examiner.
