Harrison Nonprofits Get Grants, Summer Concert

1. Contestants for the 2014 Miss Westchester and Miss Hudson Valley pageants will walk the runway this Saturday, Aug. 3 at the White Plains Performing Arts Center.

2. Driving drunk may cost more than your license now. Gov. Andrew Cuomo amended Leandra's Law to make driving on a conditional license—typically issued to people who enroll in alcohol/drug rehab after losing their license for drunk driving—a felony.  Read more here.

3. Over $1,500 in grants were awarded to Harrison organizations by the United Way of Harrison-Purchase.  Congrats to the Harrison Children's Center and The Harrison Youth Council, Inc. Read more here.

4. The CT Powerball is now at $235 million and the winner will be announced Wednesday night. 

5. Frank and the Wanderers will be at Riis Park this Wednesday at 7 p.m. The band will cover songs from Dion and the Belmonts to Skynryd. Bring a lawn chair and get a good seat!
