HARRISON, NY — Harrison school district residents approved a 2019-20 school budget on Tuesday.
The $119.4 million proposed budget was approved by a 56 percentage point margin, as the "yesses" took 77% and the "noes" took 23%.
The vote was 1,149 yes to 330 no.

The budget is a 2.32% spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 2.29% hike in the school tax levy. That is within the state's tax cap for the district so the budget only needed to be approved by a majority vote.
Running unopposed for the Board of Education were incumbent Placido Dino Puccio and Noreen Lucey, replacing Rachel Estroff, who did not see re-election.
