Harrison High School’s Alex Tosto and Sarah Crozier won a Metropolitan Theater Award for Outstanding Duet at ceremonies on Monday, June 2 for their roles as the married couple Al and Kristine in the Harrison High School Footlight Players’ production of A Chorus Line.
In the song “Sing”, the character of Kristine, played by the highly musical Crozier, laments to the director Zack that what often holds her back in auditions is her inability to carry a tune. Her husband Al, played by Tosto in only his second musical show at HHS, peppers Kristine’s responses with comedic timing and melodic interjections. The combination is a recipe of delightfulness as recognized by the Metro voting committee.
On the Metro’s Red Carpet, Crozier and Tosto are interviewed by the Journal News writer Pete Kramer. Halle Mastroberandino, Musical Director Lynn Fusco, and Choreographer and Director Deborah Toteda are also interviewed before the awards show.
