HHS Cheerleaders Compete in the Inaugural Section 1 Championship

High School Cheerleaders Have First Opportunity To Compete As Interscholastic Athletes

The Harrison High School Varsity Cheerleaders qualified and competed in the first ever Section 1 Championships held at White Plains High School on February 27th, 2016.

Competitive cheerleading was recognized in 2014 as an interscholastic sport by the New York State Board of Regents in an effort to improve safety and coaching standards. Like all other interscholastic sports, there are now Sectional Championships and a State Championship to be held March 5th, 2016 in Syracuse, New York.

Even though the Huskies did not take home the Championship trophy this year, teammates Sophia Jacobi, Krystal Shaw, Sabrina Winoski, and Gianna Menniti received Varsity All League honors at the event.
