Harrison High School senior Jake Marino was selected for the prestigious honor of Con Edison’s Athlete of the Week. The Con Edison Athlete of the Week program recognizes students in Westchester and Putnam Counties who excel athletically, academically, and in the areas of leadership and citizenship. Marino is the second Con Edison award winner this year from Harrison High school.
Marino, who is a captain of the Harrison High School Varsity Lacrosse team, has already signed a letter of intent to play Lacrosse for the University of Massachusetts Minutemen. He has been recognized as an All Conference and All Section player during his playing career at Harrison High School. In his junior year, both he and his team were recognized as Scholar Athletes by the New York Public High School Athletic Association.
In his interview with the Journal News, Marino talked about how the Division I recruiting process motivated him to focus on his academic progress. That motivation propelled him to be a leader in the classroom and on the field where the Harrison Lacrosse program continues to develop and grow.
