HHS Senior Rose Stokoe Wins Columbia Scholastic Press Award
Harrison Student Wins Prestigious Writing Award

Harrison High School senior Rose Stokoe was awarded a prestigious Certificate of Merit by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association in its 31st Annual Gold Circle Awards. Ms. Stokoe was cited in the category of General or Humor Commentary for news publication for her article #No One Cares in this past year’s May edition of The Husky Herald.
Ms. Stokoe, under the guidance of advisor Gary Glauber, has been writing for the Husky Herald for the past three years. While she has written many articles on a wide-range of topics, she is enjoying the commentary style of wirting and hopes to continue contributing to a college newspaper wherever she chooses to attend next fall.
Since 1984, the Columbia Scholastic Press Association has recognized outstanding achievement in both verbal and visual categories for newspapers, magazines, and yearbooks. Digital media categories were added in 2009. This year, the Gold Circle Awards attracted 7,128 entries from newspapers and magazines throughout the United States.
