I-287 Speed Stop Leads to Drug Charges for 2

State Police stopped a vehicle for speeding on I-287 at 3:40 a.m. Aug. 23.

Police allege they found the driver and his passenger in possession of 22 grams—less than an ounce—of marijuana and less than a gram of Ecstacy (MDMA).

Victor C. Askew was charged with:

• Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Class A Misdemeanor
• Unlawful Possession Marijuana, Violation
• Speeding Violation

Askew was released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Harrison Court Sept. 15.





Luis A. Rivera, Jr. was charged with:

• Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Class A Misdemeanor

Rivera was also released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Harrison Court Sept. 15.
