After an intense afternoon workout, my sister and I decided to have a light but hearty lunch. With all the damage we have done to our bodies over the holidays and our Caribbean vacation, we needed a change of pace. We decided on Land and Sea Restaurant, a Mediterranean and Italian eatery on Halstead Avenue.
When we walked in, we were warmly greeted and sat at our table by our waiter and given fresh bread and water.
As a appetizer we had Calamari Fritti (fried calamari) and Cocktail Di Mare (jumbo shrimp cocktail). As a big fan of calamari, I enjoyed the fact that they were not deep fried or very greasy. The jumbo shrimp was just as tasty.

As we feasted on our appetizers, we ordered our main entrees which took some time coming to us. We found this odd because there were not many people in the restaurant.
I had the salmon topped with zucchini over mashed potatoes and olives and my sister had the seafood linguine with clams. The salmon was fresh and well cooked and my sister who is a real picky eater enjoyed every drop of her meal.

Land and Sea has something for everyone. For the seafood lovers there is an array of fish and shrimp dishes, meat lovers can enjoy steaks are there are also a number of pasta dishes and pizzas to chose from.
Entrees range from $13 to $20. If you want to bring your family do not worry because the restaurant offers a kids menu with kiddie favorites such as pizza and chicken fingers starting at $8.
After our lunch we indulged in the Italian cheesecake which was rich, creamy and satisfying. The desert menu offered chocolate cake, New York cheesecake and Italian gelato in flavors such as hazelnut and pitaccio.
