Lead Found In 10 Percent Of SUNY Purchase Water Access Points

The school began testing its water during the spring semester.

HARRISON, NY — Lead has been found in 10 percent of SUNY Purchase’s water access point on campus. Facilities Director Mike Kopas said the college has installed filters on all the contaminated sinks and replaced all water fountains with filtered hydration stations.

An annual water sampling/testing plan is being developed and an engineering firm has been engaged to find a long-term solution.
