Legionnaire's Disease Bacteria Found at Manhattanville College
It happens as a new outbreak in NYC kills 1 and sickens 13.

The bacteria that caused a dozen deaths this summer was found in a large water chiller at Manhattanville College, The Journal News reported.
Legionella bacteria can cause Legionnaire’s Disease, which can be fatal.
A summer outbreak tied to water and cooling towers was centered in the Bronx; other cases were reported this summer in Rockland and Westchester counties. A new outbreak has killed one and sickened others in New York City.

The college notified students and told anyone that if they experienced flu or pneumonia symptoms they should immediately go to the college’s health center, a spokesman told reporter Matt Spillane.
