LMK Transition Team Travels to Elementary Schools
Louis M. Klein Counselors, Principals, and Students begin to prepare Elementary School students for Middle School

The Louis M. Klein Middle School Transition team, comprised of Principal Scott Fried, the LMK Middle School Counselors, and a few current sixth grade students, visited all four Harrison Elementary Schools at the end of January.
Students participated in various rotations, all aimed at introducing students to LMK in preparation for next September while alleviating any worries or fears that come along with graduating elementary school and moving on to middle school.
Fifth grade students enjoyed hearing more about what a school counselor does from their future school counselor, Ms. Cannistraci. They enjoyed learning the ins-and-outs of LMK from two current 6th grade students who graduated from their elementary school. Finally, they were engaged in a Question & Answer session with Principal Fried.

All of the students also had the opportunity to watch a video filmed and edited by seventh grade students titled, “My First Days of 6th Grade”.
These visits are just the start of many fun, exciting transition activities that our 5th grade students experience. Soon, fifth and sixth graders will exchange Pen Pal letters before meeting their buddy at Buddy Day on March 29th.
