National Library Week Celebration at Harrison Public Library

Join us for an all-day event for the whole community featuring: 3D-printer & tech demos, family story time, origami, crafts, prizes & raffles, a watercolor demo, TED Talks, a library therapy dog, and preview upcoming summer programs for adults and kids!

FAMILY STORYTIME & CRAFT (Community Room, 10:30 - 11:00 am)

Share stories about the library in this National Library Week themed storytime for the whole family. Craft will be in the Children’s Discovery Center at 11am.

TECH ED: CLOUD STORAGE (Learning Center, 10:00 - 12:00 pm)

iPhone & iPad guru, Edwin Cheung, helps you get organized in the cloud. Learn how to backup, access, and share files and pictures from any Internet connected device. BYOD (or use the library’s Windows laptops)

TED TALKS: “TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNITIES” (Community Room, 12:00 - 1:30 pm)

Iona College communications professor, Elda Buonanno Foley, leads a lively discussion after watching short and thought-provoking TED Talks on Technology & Communities.

READ with ANGIE (Library Therapy Dog) (Children's Discovery Center, 1:00 - 2:00 pm)

Children can read to Angie, a trained therapy dog, who loves to lend an ear to young readers.

MAGICBOX SHOWCASE (Learning Center, 2:00 - 3:00 pm)

MagicBox student showcase with photography reception and culminating show of student special effect videos and Garage Band soundtracks.

MAKERS IN THE LIBRARY: LO-TECH (Community Room, 2:00 - 3:00 pm)

In this library program open house, catch up on all the creative programming happening at the library and get a preview of new ones to come. Stop by to make origami, do some coloring, preview upcoming watercolor class & more! Upcoming summer program info for both kids & adults.
