NEUBERGER MUSEUM OF ART PRESENTS “AVANTE GARDE PARIS 100 YEARS LATER: GIORGIO DE CHIRICO AND MODERN ART” ON OCTOBER 27

Author Ara H. Merjian will discuss his newly published book, Giorgio de Chirico and the Metaphysical City: Nietzsche, Modernism, Paris, at the Neuberger Museum of Art of Purchase College on Monday October 27, at 4:30 pm. Merjian’s book examines how de Chirico’s metaphysical cityscapes redirected the course of modernist painting and the modern architectural imagination.

Ara H. Merjian is associate professor of Italian studies at New York University, where he is an affiliate of the Institute of Fine Arts and the Department of Art History.

Tuesday through Sunday, 12 noon to 5 pm

Closed Mondays and major holidays

Group tours by appointment only on Tuesdays through Fridays, 10 am to 12 noon

For persons with special needs, designated parking is available at the south end of the Museum building. Call ahead for wheelchair accommodations.

$3.00 Seniors

Free admission for Museum members, children 12 and under, and Purchase College students, faculty, and staff.
