Opera at the Cinema: Tosca

The finest opera from Belgium screened to you at Purchase College! Join us on Sunday, March 20th at 2pm

A new production of Puccini’s masterpiece Tosca, his artfully crafted tale of jealousy, turmoil, despair, and the struggles and dreams of society’s lower classes. Paolo Arrivabeni conducts the classic opera, sung in Italian, with stage direction by Claire Servais.

Set in Rome during the summer of 1800, Tosca follows the tale of escaped political prisoner Cesare Angelotti. Angelotti seeks refuge in a church and is aided by Cavaradossi, a local artist. From there, it is a story of love, lust, and murder set against the panoramic politics of soon-to-be Napoleon's Rome.

The screening is on Sunday, March 20th at 2pm--get your tickets now!
