Operation Safe Travels at Purchase College, SUNY

New York State University Police and RJB Service of Harrison teamed up to offer free safety inspections to students today.

The New York State University Police department at Purchase College teamed up with RJB Service of Harrison today to offer free safety inspections of vehicles to ensure that students traveling home for the holidays arrive safely.

“Operation Safe Travels” included inspections of batteries, tire pressure and treads, wiper blades, belts, lights, leaks, and also topped off engine oil and coolant fluids.

As Purchase's Chief of Police, Dayton Tucker, said, “During the holiday season AAA will tow over 600,000 vehicles for tire, battery, and coolant malfunctions. Therefore, we want to do everything we can to make sure our students are safe on the road and that they get to their destinations without incident.”
