Outstanding Showing by LMK Science Olympiad Team

LMK students placed in six events and finish 7th out of 33 schools

The Louis M. Klein Middle School Science Olympiad team competed in the Lower Hudson Science Olympiad competition taking placing in six of the events, with one first place finish.

The event, held at Scarsdale Middle School, is a highly competitive event that involves many neighboring schools. Composed of mostly sixth through eighth grade students and a few ninth graders, the LMK Science Olympiad team placed 7th out of the 33 schools who were competing.

“This is a significant accomplishment when a few years ago, our ranking was in the 20s,” said Joan O’Keeffe Director of Science and Technology for the Harrison Central School District. “We were two places away from the New York State competition. This could not have been done without the hard work of our students and their coaches, Angela Diecidue, Dan Recktenwalt and Lou D'Alessandro.”
