Killed by Train in Harrison

Metro-North trains on the New Haven line are experiencing delays. BREAKING

UPDATE: Police are investigating a fatality on Metro-North's New Haven Line Thursday afternoon.

At about 1:28 p.m., an unauthorized person on the tracks at the Harrison station was struck and killed by the 1:02 p.m. train from Stamford to Grand Central Station, according to Metro-North spokeswoman Nancy Gamerman.

It will be at least 24 hours before a formal identification will be announced, she said.

Power was shut down on one track as the investigation began and the body was removed, the Harrison Daily Voice reported.

According to Metro-North: New Haven Line service continues to experience delays of up to 20 minutes due to Police Activity and single-tracking in the vicinity of Harrison.
