Purchase Students Meet the Dalai Lama
The students are in India through July 2 as part of the SUNY arts college's study abroad program.

HARRISON, NY — Last week, two classes of study abroad students from Purchase College were granted an audience with the Dalai Lama in India.
"It’s a great honor that many study abroad groups who travel to India are not given," said Suzanne Neary, Director of the college's Office of International Programs and Services. "We are fortunate to partner with The Norbulingka Institute and grateful that Professor Suzanne Ironbiter, who has led the Tibetan Buddhist Philosophy & Art class in India several times, has a personal relationship with a member of the Dalai Lama’s staff. This is Professor Ironbiter's third audience with His Holiness.”
The students are in India from May 27 through July 2 to partake in one of the following two courses.
