Senior Soccer Star Thriving For Huskies
Harrison's Nicole Tenner is having another great season on the field for the Husky soccer team.
At the beginning of the 2010 season the expectations were high for coach Jon-Erik Zappala's Harrison girl's soccer team, and over halfway through the season the team is succeeding largely thanks to the effort of senior Nicole Tenner.
Tenner has been a midfielder for the majority of her career, but with an inexperienced defense on this year's team Coach Zappala moved Tenner to the back end of his lineup.
"I agree it is not my favorite position but if that is how I can help the team then I am willing to do it," said Tenner.

Tenner's selfless move to the defensive side has helped Harrison jump to a strong start. Now that the team is facing the tougher portion of the schedule, the Huskies are going to need her now more than ever.
"Up until now the team has been doing great," said Tenner. "We are on-and-off right now, there are days that we will be great, our communication will be on and we'll be working extremely hard—as in the Rye game on Wednesday, we didn't finish with a win but we fought for it and put up our best work."

In many of the team's early season games Harrison has won based on their ability to out-work their opponents. Tenner's effort is unmatched by the opposition and her athletic ability and soccer talent clearly sets her apart from the opposing players.
"Many of our wins have been a result of a team effort and we need to keep that up—especially going into league games now," said Tenner. "Being that out record is 6-3 right now we have hit a lot of our expectations and probably more, but as the season goes on I think people will see Harrison girls soccer in a different way than they expected."
Already this year Tenner said she has met some of her season goals, however the senior is still dedicated to working hard for the remainder of the season.
"I definitely plan on reaching even more. For the rest of the season I expect us to finish with a great seed going into sectionals and beating some of our tough opponents in our league in the upcoming games," said the senior. "Right now we are just taking it one game at a time and hoping for success."
Best of luck and continued success to Nicole Tenner, Harrison Patch's athlete of the week.
