Update: 8-Vehicle Crash on I-684 Snarls Traffic for Hours
The crash occurred early Wednesday morning near Harrison, and caused an estimated 10-mile back up. Injuries were reported.

Updated at 10:11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015: The Journal News is reporting that the accident involved eight cars, and that at least one person was seriously injured.
News 12 reported that a motorcycle was one of the vehicles involved in the crash and its rider was injured and in critical condition at a nearby hospital.
WCBS 880 radio reported that a person may have died in Wednesday morning’s crash on I-684 near Harrison, but that has not been confirmed.

The crash occurred just before 5:30 a.m. when a car collided with a van, and then six more vehicles crashed nearby.
Original story: New York State Police are investigating a “serious auto collision” Wednesday morning on the southbound side of I-684 near Harrison.

Details of the crash were not immediately available but it occurred near mile post marker 4.2, and has caused an estimated 10-mile back up due to lane closures.
“It is anticipated that the lane closures will last several hours,” state police said.
