Student Abuse Allegations Against Harrison Music Teacher

The teacher is accused of pushing a fourth-grader under a desk during an altercation.

HARRISON, NY — Harrison police have arrested a music teacher at Parsons Memorial Elementary School. Police said he was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor.

According to police, the arrest is part of an an investigation into allegations made by a parent of a Parsons student. Police said the Harrison School District has fully cooperated with the police investigation. The man has been administratively reassigned to non-teaching duties pending the outcome of the this case, along with the conclusion of an investigation by district officials, police said.

According to News12, the teacher got into a confrontation with a fourth-grade student. The child's family says the teacher pushed the child under a desk. Another teacher got involved, and the student went first to the school office and then to a doctor. The family alleges the child was injured, the TV station reported.
