Tree Struck By Lightning Causes Water Main Break
Sterling Road closed, water service disrupted.
During today's thunderstorms, lightning struck a tree on Sterling Road, which in turn caused a water main break around 3 pm.
Because the tree is situated on top of the pipe, it must be removed so that the pipe can be repaired.
"The tree has to come out, then the water department has to come dig it up and access the pipe so they can repair it," explains Peter Navarra of Peter Navarra Landscaping and Tree Company. "Right now people are out of water."
