Weather Alert: Ice Causes NY Thruway Closure, I-287 Accidents
Freezing Rain Alert issued by the National Weather Service for Putnam, Rockland, Westchester counties.
The New York State Thruway is closed southbound from Newburgh to the New York City line, state police said at 9:06AM.
Multiple car accidents are reported on I-287.
Due to freezing rain and severe icing conditions, Bee-Line and Paratransit bus service is delayed, Westchester County officials said at 8:43AM. Service will resume when the temperature rises, and the road conditions improve.
