Weekend Best Bet: Nyack Halloween Oct. 24
Family-friendly and adult-friendly too, this is a spectacular day of events. The Halloween activities start at 9AM and end with parties.

Nyack is the place to be Oct. 24.
The Witch Way Costume 5K and the Boo Run (kids costume 1K) start from 9-11 a.m. from the Veterans Memorial gazebo on Main Street. To register online go to http://www.raceawesome.com.
Then the Nyack Chamber of Commerce will host its 28th annual Halloween Parade from 5:30 to 7:30 pm in the heart of the village. The event, organized by the Chamber and sponsored by Guinness and Oak Beverages and The Time hotel, is the largest parade of its kind outside New York City, drawing about 20,000 people.

Parade festivities begin at 3 pm with live music on Main Street.
Marchers in costume are encouraged to gather about then at Memorial Park to show off. Assembly time for the parade -- marchers and floats -- is 4 pm in the park at the corner of Depew and Piermont Streets in downtown Nyack.

The parade steps off at 5:30 pm.
All are welcome to march--and to register for prizes, totaling more than $2,000 for the best costumes and floats. Registration is required for prize eligibility. Details are available at www.nyackchamber.org
The awards ceremony takes place right after the parade. After that, families are invited to the Monster Mash at the Nyack Center. Plus, there are after-parade parties in many of Nyack’s great restaurants and bars.
