Weekend Weather: Beginning to Feel Like Winter

Gusty and wind chills around Harrison -- and we throw in the latest on the Christmas week forecast too

There’s a word being introduced into our forecast that we haven’t used yet this month and that’s “Wind Chill Factor.”

After half a month of 50-degree and even an occasional 60-degree day in Westchester, we’re expecting temperatures in the upper 30s to around 40 degrees on both Saturday and Sunday. Yes, it will reach 50 today in many parts of the county, but temperatures begin to fall by late afternoon.

Saturday will be mostly sunny, breezy with wind gusts reaching 25 mph, and that means temperatures will feel significantly colder than the projected low 40s throughout the county.

It will be very cold Saturday night, with lows in the upper 20s; and the cold weather continues into Sunday, but then we’re headed back to what we’ve been accustomed to — 50s by Tuesday.

On Monday, it will be party sunny but from Tuesday through Friday it could be rainy; and on Christmas Day we could see temps in the 60s too.
