<p>Saturday, May 16th, the Town of Greenburgh will hold its 3rd annual Artists and Crafters Market at Presser Park (former Webb Field), 218 S. Central Avenue, Hartsdale. This free, family-friendly event is dedicated to introducing and promoting local artisans and fostering a deeper appreciation for the creative process within our community. More than 30 <i>a</i>rtists and crafters of all ages and in all media will showcase and sell their creative expressions. Each exhibitor also will offer a free, hands-on lesson, presentation, creative experience or something interesting and dynamic for marketgoers of all ages. The Artists and Crafters Market will take place from 11 am until 4 pm - with a rain-date of Sunday, May 17th. Free parking is available nearby.</p>

<p>Join us for a beautiful program of choral music by Eleanor Daley, Stephen Smith, Sarah Quartel, Diane Loomer, Stephen Chatman, and Don Macdonald, alongside songs inspired by Canada’s breathtaking natural beauty.The concert also pays tribute to beloved Canadian singer-songwriters including Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Gordon Lightfoot, k.d. lang, and Loreena McKennitt.</p>
<p>We’re also delighted to be joined by guitarists Fred Caruso and Ed Pitaro, and cellist Matt Stauffer.We hope you’ll celebrate the rich musical spirit of Canada with us this spring!</p>

<p>We’re celebrating the winners of the <b>47<sup>th</sup> Young Artists Concerto Competition</b> at the Yonkers Philharmonic <b>Free Concert</b> on May 9, 2026 at 3:00.</p>
<p>First Prize Winner, Ben Puts, from Yonkers will perform the first movement of Lalo’s cello concerto, which reflects Lalo's Spanish-inflected Romanticism — restless, colorful, never predictable. The writing is idiomatic and demanding, showcasing the instrument's full expressive range from deep, resonant lows to singing upper register passages.</p>
<p>Second Prize Winner, Taira Matsumoto from Pleasantville introduces the saxophone as a solo concert instrument with Glazunov’s Concerto for Sax. Cast in a single continuous movement, the opening theme, lyric and aristocratic, displays the alto saxophone's uncanny ability to sing like the human voice.</p>
<p>Third Prize winner, Yuto Lim from Harrison completes the celebration of our Westchester high school students with the 1<sup>st</sup>
movement from one of the most beloved violin concertos ever written, Mendelssohn's E minor Concerto.</p>
<p>The Yonkers Phil will open the concert with Strauss Fruhlingstimme (Voices of Spring) This sparkling concert waltz distills everything that made Strauss the undisputed King of the Waltz. Tchaikovsky’s stirring March Slav will open the second half of the program.It unfolds from a solemn, folk-tinged opening to a triumphant conclusion incorporating the Russian Imperial anthem.</p>
<p>It will be a wonderful afternoon celebrating three talented Westchester high school students. Come and bring your family and friends.</p>

<p>The Nyack Famous Street Fair will be returning on Sunday, May 17 from 10 to 5 in downtown Nyack. This is the ultimate shopping and dining event you do not want to miss. The fair features over three hundred exhibitors, from four states with arts, crafts, new retail, home décor, and unique gifts set up in tents lining Main, Broadway and Cedar Streets. For the foodie’s festival foods of all kinds will be available including food trucks. Music will be located at the Gazebo on Main Street. Be sure to stop by the great restaurants and outdoor cafes with many offering fair specials. Nyack’s unique shops and boutiques are a must see. </p>
