11-Year-Old Girl Critically Hurt in Hauppauge Crash
The accident occurred Sunday morning. Three other people suffer non-life threatening injuries in accident involving fire chief's vehicle.

An 11-year-old Bay Shore girl is in critical condition following a two-car crash in Hauppauge Sunday that also injured three others, police said.
According to police, Iris Hernandez was driving a 2001 Nissan Xterra northbound on Wheeler Road when she struck a southbound Hauppauge Fire Department chief’s vehicle head-on in front of 560 Wheeler Road at 11:17 a.m.
Hernandez’s daughter, Ismeily Perdomo-Hernandez was ejected from the Xterra, police said. The 11-year-old was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she was admitted in critical condition.

Hernandez’s son, Inmer Perdomo-Hernandez, 9, and her sister, Cindy Hernandez, 29, were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said.
The driver of the fire department vehicle, who police did not identify, was also transported to Stony Brook for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Speaking with police regarding the crash, Hernandez said she lost control of her vehicle and spun into oncoming traffic.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452. The investigation is continuing.
