5 Things to Do on a Beautiful Day

Mother Nature has handed us a gift, Thursday is going to be a beauty. Warm weather and clear skies will make it feel more like May than March. So what’s there for a Hauppauge resident do? We’ve got a few ideas.
- Head to the great outdoors and be sure take a camera with you to in Hauppauge. Its lake offers scenic views from the pier and there's a natural abundance of wildlife in birds, ducks and swans to inspire you.
- Take your pet for a walk at Charles P. Toner Park in Nesconset. The dog walk trail starts near the bathrooms buildings, at the top of the path leading down to the Nesconset gazebo. The dirt path is approximately 20 yards into the woods and runs parallel to the paved asphalt trail for runners and joggers.
- Meet a few of the barnyard animals at in nearby Commack. There are roosters, rabbits, goats, and pigs for your child to pet. Also, spend a few minutes exploring the 18th century farmhouse that has been turned into a museum.
- Take a hike on the wooded paths of . Next door to the larger Blydenburgh County Park, but Bill Richards Memorial Park has quiet, serene paths with plenty of benches to sit and reflect.
- Dust off your clubs and head to Hamlet Wind Watch Golf & Estates for a round of golf. This 11-acres golfing facility has an 18-hole course designed with four different tee settings to suit all levels of golfers.
