Allstate Employees Partner Together for Bring Out the Good Month in Hauppauge

Allstate employees partner with Sunrise Day Camps and Island Harvest to help raise awareness for childhood cancer and hunger

“At Allstate, we believe in improving lives and making communities stronger,” says Michelle Fusco, Allstate Event Leader.

Throughout April, Allstate employees and agency owners across the country volunteered their time to address pressing social needs.

Recently, Hauppauge-based Allstate employees and agency owners banded together with Sunrise Day Camps and Island Harvest. Together their mission was to raise awareness on childhood cancer and hunger.

This volunteer project was one of hundreds supported by nearly 13,000 Allstaters during Allstate’s annual Bring Out the Good Month. Together, Allstate employees and agency owners also raised more than $7 million for more than 8,000 nonprofit organizations.

“Bring Out the Good Month has special meaning for Allstaters,” adds Fusco. “It’s a time we can come together around the country to volunteer for the causes we’re passionate about and help staff soup kitchens, mentor youth and beautify community spaces. Supporting others is truly our purpose and it’s a source of pride for us.”

Sunrise Day Camp-Long Island is the world’s first full-summer day camp for children with cancer and their siblings, provided completely free of charge. Also a member of Sunrise Association, whose mission is to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer and their siblings all year round through various camp-like programs and in-hospital services. Island Harvest is the largest hunger relief organization on Long Island. By relying on volunteers, in-kind services, and donated food, devoting more than 95 cents of every dollar contributed directly to their programs.
