• Long Island biking paths you can ride this fall (newsday.com) — Cyclists in Hauppauge can now enjoy the Route 347 Parks to Ports Greenway, a shared-use path that already links Town Line Road to Stony Brook Road and will eventually stretch 15 miles to Port Jefferson Station. The guide also highlights dozens of other Long Island bike paths, from beachside boardwalks to wooded mountain bike trails, with parking fees and difficulty levels to help you plan fall rides.
• Galil Importing Corp Recalls Lior Cinnamon Ground Seasoning Due to Elevated Lead Levels (fda.gov) — A Hauppauge-based company, Galil Importing Corp, has recalled its Lior Cinnamon Ground Seasoning after tests found elevated lead levels, prompting an immediate stop-sale and investigation. If you bought the 90-gram container with lot code GAP11304, you should discard it or return it for a refund, especially to protect children from potential long-term health effects of lead exposure.
