Angela's House Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary

A Hauppauge-based charity Angela's House celebrated its 20th anniversary on March 29. 

Hauppauge resident Bob Policastro, founder of Angela's House, received a Proclamation from Suffolk County Treasurer Angie Carpenter to mark the 20th anniversary for founding a non-profit organization that has revolutionized health care for sick and frail children. 

"On behalf of Angie Carpenter, Suffolk County Treasurer, I deliver this Proclamation to Bob Policastro for his outstanding service and dedication for 20 years of compassionate care to the children and families of Angela's House,” said Karin Caro of Blu Chip Marketing. 

Angela’s House, a Hauppauge-based nonprofit that helps children with special health care needs due to chronic or life-threatening illness. Policastro and his wife founded the charity after their own daughter Angela was born with extensive medical needs. 

""It is amazing to think we have been assisting families care for children with special health care needs for 20 years. When my wife and I were faced with the heart wrenching medical trauma that we experience with our daughter Angela we thought there would never be a feeling of peace again. We now feel blessed to have helped thousands of families caring for medically fragile children," Policastro said in a statement. 

Honorary awards were also given to the charity's Guardian Angels at the Spring Gala. 

Angela's House has residential homes for children in East Meadow and Smithtown. It is currently working on plans to open
