Bellone To Host 9/11 20th Anniversary Memorial

HAUPPAUGE, NY — A memorial service to remember the lives lost in the 9/11 terrorist attacks 20 years ago is planned for 8 a.m. Saturday. The event, being hosted by Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, will be at the Suffolk County 9/11 Memorial in the Armed Forces Plaza; the north side of the H. Lee Dennison Building in Hauppauge.
This year's dedication will include a Survival Tree and a special 9/11 compilation video to mark the 20th anniversary. A commemorative bell will also be rung in remembrance of each Suffolk County resident.
"The annual event pays tribute to the sacrifices made by Suffolk County residents on that fateful day," the news release states.

While the ceremony is set to begin at 8 a.m., the Survival Tree dedication ceremony is due to take place at 9:15 a.m.
