Breakdown:

In 2009, the Eagles ended up with  an even record within their league, then had Suffolk County Class B Champions Harborfields to compete against in the post season. In moving up to League IV this season, the Eagles will have to face New York State finalists from Half Hollow Hills West. Hills West has lost their star player, Tyler Harris, in a transfer, but Masino believes they're still a threat.

"They have an excellent program there, there are other players that will step up on that team.  The whole league is going to be tough. Comsewogue moved up with us, and they look like they're going to have another good year," Masino said.

Making their presence known on the Eagle's courts this year will be Kyle Sutryk at guard and Robbie Scheim at center. Masino said both could provide quality minutes on the floor.

In their first non-league game of the season, the Eagles fell 52-43 in a loss against Eastport-South Manor.

"We weren't putting the ball in the hoop. There were plenty of other mistakes being made, but it was really about scoring, and we fell short of where we needed to be," Masino said.

Looking to the season, the coach said there's room to be made for improvement and the team is striving for new goals.

"We're working on limiting turnovers, improving our transition defense, and not giving up free points. We can keep this program moving forward and become a better team, we just need to get some things under control," Masino said.
