Cafe La Strada Chef and Owner Dies

A Hauppauge restaurant owners and chef of Cafe La Strada died on Dec. 28, 2011. 

LIBN reports Steven Bua, 52, died of a heart attack. He started Cafe La Strada in partnership with his father Hugo Bua more than 17 years ago. 

Bua started his career as a restaurantaur by peeling potatoes at restaurants starting in elementary school. Then, he trained in several eateries before partnering with his father to form La Strada. 

La Strada's manager Ray Asan told LIBN they were devastated by the news of Bua's death. 

A funeral mass for Steven Bua, 52, will be held at St. Louis de Monfort R.C. Church in Sound Beach on Wednesday.
