Crime Report: Field Damaged at Park; Leaving the Scene of an Accident

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Precinct reported these arrests and incidents in Hauppauge and Nesconset from March 10-16.

Police arrested a Kings Park man on Oser Avenue in Hauppauge after they said he was driving a 2008 Honda Civic eastbound on Route 25 in Smithtown and hit a 2004 Mercury, then fled the scene. Douglas Birns, 54, of Kings Park, was arrested on March 11 in Hauppauge on a charge of operator leaving the scene of property damage, a misdemeanor. 

A Hauppauge man was arrested in Smithtown for allegedly making telephone threats to someone. Vinny Tennis, 43, of Hauppauge, was arrested on March 13 in Smithtown on a second-degree aggravated harassment charge, a misdemeanor.

A Nesconset man was arrested on Lake Avenue South at 7:35 a.m. while allegedly in possession of drugs and money. Michael Lulo, 33, of Nesconset, was arrested on March 15 in Nesconset on a charge of third-degree criminal possession of a narcotic drug with the intent to sell, a felony.

Police said a St. James man was driving a 2004 Cadillac on Middle Country Road at Alexander Avenue in Nesconset and drove it into a grass field, causing damage. Jeffrey Ognibene, 19, of St. James, was arrested March 14 in Nesconset on a criminal mischief with intent to damage property charge, a misdemeanor.
