Eagles Scoreboard: Hauppauge Teams Victorious In Opening Games
A look at varsity games from March 26 to April 2.

Boys Lacrosse: The Eagles varsity boys lacrosse team won its season opener against East Hampton/Bridgehampton, 10-9, on March 26. Junior Sam Llinares led Hauppauge’s offense by scoring 3 goals and making 1 assist. Other high scorers included sophomore Rob Longo with 3 goals and Chris Jacovino with 2 goals and 3 assists.
The boys lacrosse team was not as fortunate last Friday, falling 18-3 to Comsewogue. This gives the team an early 1-1 record in Division II. The Eagles will travel to compete against Kings Park on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Girls Lacrosse: Hauppauge’s girls lacrosse team is off to a strong start with two wins under their belts. The Eagles claimed a 13-1 victory against Eastport-South Manor on March 30, which they followed up with a bigger blowout, winning 17-3 against Islip on April 1.

Jennifer Porretto is leading the offensive line with 9 goals in two games, netting 5 goals and 5 assists against Eastport. The girls lacrosse team proved it has a diverse offense as Lauren Descalzo, Stephanie Peragallo and Taylor Wernert scored two goals each against Islip.
The Lady Eagles will take to the road to play against Miller Place on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Softball: The girls softball team played through freezing rain and wind to beat Eastport/South Manor 10-3 in their first league game of the 2011 season. Kristie Capuano and Marietta Silliman secured the victory with two back-to-back home runs.
The team will travel early in the week to play Deer Park on Monday at 4 p.m., and then host Islip at home on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
