Hauppauge Public Library: Long Island Reads--Museum of Jewish Heritage (Offsite Trip)

The Long Island Reads 2012 selection is THE LOST WIFE, by Long Island’s own Alyson Richman.

Much of the story takes place in Terezin, a city built outside Prague in 1780 but became Theresienstadt Concentration Camp under Hitler. He used it as a showcase to show the world his benign “separate but equal” attitude towards the Jews.

The Museum, in Battery Park, has a gallery dedicated to Terezin. After a guided tour, you will have time for lunch on your own and for wandering the Battery Park area.
