GEORGIA KUHEN NAMED LI REGION DIRECTOR

OPTIONS' GEORGIA KUHEN ELECTED LI REGION DIRECTOR OF NYS MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION

Georgia Kuhen, LMSW, has been elected director for the Long Island Region and will serve on the board of directors for the Association of Community Living (ACL). ACL is a statewide membership organization of not-for-profit agencies that provide housing and rehabilitation services to more than 30,000 people diagnosed with serious and persistent psychiatric disabilities.

Kuhen is the director of Mental Health Residential Services for Options for Community Living, Inc. where she is responsible for overseeing all Options’ mental health residential services programs, including supervised, apartment treatment and supported housing programs. She additionally ensures regulatory compliance and administers policies and procedures. In addition to ACL, Kuhen has served on the board of directors of the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless and is an active member of the Supported Housing Network of New York and the Suffolk County Mental Health Subcommittee. She additionally serves as the organizational representative on the Project Advisory Committee (PAC) which is coordinated by the Suffolk Care Collaborative. In this capacity, Kuhen works with other behavioral and health professionals to introduce the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payments program (DSRIP) to Long Island.

Kuhen earned a Master of Social Work degree from Stony Brook University. An Options staff member since 1986, she has been directly involved in the development of the agency’s mental health program, which now serves more than 300 adults. Kuhen is a resident of South Setauket.
