A rainy, cloudy day put a damper on Hauppauge's varsity boys and girls cross country teams success. Both previously 3-0, they stumbled and fell to Kings Park along Sunken Meadows trails.

Boys coach Bill Maida with girls coach Robert Lingner said the Eagles were missing a number of athletes for the meet, due to a string of injuries and illnesses.

Hauppauge boys were defeated 23- 38, to become 3-1 in League V.  The girls fell similarly 20 -39. Both coaches said despite the loss, individual times were good.
