Hauppauge Elementary Student Wins 1st Place In NYS Science Fair

HAUPPAUGE, NY — Vincent Calvanese, a student at Pines Elementary School, won first place in the New York State Science Fair, the Hauppauge School District announced.

Calvanese received a proclamation from Suffolk County Legislator Leslie Kennedy for the win.

He placed first last year in the Pines Science Fair and the Brookhaven National Lab Science Fair with his project, "5 Second Rule Breaker." He continued on to the New York State Science Fair where he also won first place.

"The Hauppauge School District congratulates Vincent on this outstanding academic
achievement," the district wrote in a news release.
