Long Island Hotel Employee Dies In Fall From Upper Floor Window

The employee was working when he fell from the window and hit the ground, police say.

HAUPPAUGE, NY — A Hauppauge hotel employee died after he fell from a window at the hotel on Saturday night, Suffolk police said.

David Lerner, while working at the Hyatt Regency Long Island, at 1717 Motor Parkway, fell from an upper floor window to the ground at approximately 7:30 p.m., police said.

Lerner, 41, of Holbrook, was pronounced dead at Stony Brook University Hospital.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was notified and is investigating, police said.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the incident to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392.
